Thurles hoping thaw comes in time Thurles are hopeful of getting Irish racing back on the road next Thursday, after being forced to cancel today's meeting at the Tipperary venue. Manager Pierce Molony hopes the expected rise in temperature next week will be enough to thaw out the track. “I understand that they hope to have rising temperatures from Monday,” said Molony. “Thank god we've been clear of snow – it's just the frost in the ground that's beating us. “The hurdle track would only take a day to get rid of it although the chase track would take a couple of days. “That's why we have a hurdles programme on the Thursday and have put the chases on the Friday.”
