Tiffany all set for Kentucky challenge Sir Mark Prescott is thrilled to have Luke Morris on his side for Tiffany’s trans-Atlantic trip to Kentucky Downs on Saturday. With precious Group One honours finally secured after the six-year-old followed in the footsteps of the trainer’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe heroine Alpinista with victory in the Grosser Preis von Berlin, the door is now open for connections to seek further riches on the international scene. That quest will see Tiffany compete at what Prescott considers America’s equivalent of Bath in the the $2million Kentucky Turf Cup Invitational Stakes, where she will face Willie Mullins’ Breeders’ Cup hero Ethical Diamond and Ed Walker’s Fort George amongst a scheduled field of 10 runners. Prescott said: “She’s in Kentucky already and they have described the track to me as being like Bath — someone mentioned to me who will ride her and I said, ‘well, Luke, obviously’, because he’s the expert round Bath! Latest Industry Updates “It’s a big pot and now she’s won her Group One we can have a go at these races where there’s a nice pot and perhaps not as much kudos.” Tiffany is set to go under the hammer at the Sceptre Sessions of the Tattersalls December Mares Sale, the same place where owners Elite Racing picked up a phenomenal six million guineas with another Prescott-trained mare, Nunthorpe heroine Marsha back in 2017. However, there is still time for her to enhance her page before that date in the sales ring, and how she fares over the Kentucky Downs undulations could determine if there is another global mission still to come. Prescott added: “She qualifies for the Japan Cup as well because the Group One in Germany was a ‘win and you’re in’, but I’m not sure what the owners will want to do after this race — we’ll see how we get on round Bath!” Barrier Trials and Futurity Targets Tiffany is one of three high-class females currently housed at the famous Heath House Stables in Newmarket alongside Sun Chariot-bound three-year-old Moon Target and Consent, who secured her own top-level success in the Prix de Royallieu last season. Prescott has a return to ParisLongchamp for the defence of that title in mind for the Denford Stud-owned four-year-old, who although out of sorts on her seasonal return in the Prix Vicomtesse Vigier, offered more encouragement in the Lillie Langtry at Goodwood most recently. “She’ll do exactly the same as last year, she’ll run in the Park Hill at Doncaster and then the Royallieu,” the trainer said. Sales Ring and Global Ambitions “I’m showing no enterprise at all, but sometimes what is obvious is the right thing — we’re being more imaginative with Tiffany! “She ran appallingly first time (at Longchamp), but was much better at Goodwood — that was a big step up — and you hope being by Lope De Vega that easier ground might make the difference heading into the autumn.” He went on: “We’ve been very lucky this year to have three Group One fillies in Tiffany, Consent and Moon Target and for a stable our size that is pretty special. “I said to William (Butler, assistant) the other day as they were walking down the hill together that we won’t half miss them next year when they are not here.”
