Tingarran Express a third winner of the week for in-form Torrens Jockey Simon Torrens rode his third winner of the week when making most on the Denise O'Shea trained Tingarran Express to take the Assembly Tech Mares Handicap Hurdle at Tramore. Pushed along to attain a prominent early position, the eight-year-old came through to take over in front after jumping the first flight. Making the rest, Torrens found a willing partner, who travelled and jumped well before keeping on doggedly in the straight. Strongly pressed by Polly Poppins on the run-in, the 7/1 chance held on well for a head win. Denise O'Shea said: "She's brilliant. She likes all the up and down hill tracks. I decided to leave the hood off her today. I just worked her the other day and she gave me a much better feel. She always gives me a good feel, but this was a different feel without the hood. "She's been an absolute star and has won three for us now. She'll probably go over a fence now. She is very small but she does pop a fence very well. "She kind of wears her heart on her sleeve and Simon said to me today that he might just bounce out and make it and it worked. "She is owned by fantastic people (the ISC Express Syndicate) and I'm very, very lucky to have them. One of them, Derek, is in Australia and he has been absolutely brilliant to me. I'm sure he's watching in today. She is an extremely special mare to us and our family at home as she came to us through sad circumstances. "Derek would have been best friends with a cousin of mine Karen O'Brien, who sadly passed away in 2023. Karen had the horse organised for the owners before she passed away. Karen was an incredibly special person and was brilliant to me. She got me Tingarran and I wouldn't have her without Karen. Thank God this horse has worked out the way that she has, because they don't always work out like that!" Additional reporting by Donal Murphy.
