< Choose Me posted a career-best effort to claim a valuable win in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fairy Bridge Stakes at Tipperary.

Kevin Prendergast's three-year-old was last seen finishing a narrow fourth in the ultra-competitive Irish Cambridgeshire but she appeared to appreciate the smaller field in this seven-furlong event.

Sent off a 10-1 shot, Declan McDonogh was content to bide his time before launching his challenge down the outside in the Listed heat.

Choose Me responded in style to see off Pollen by a length and three-quarters with Totally Devoted back in third.

Prendergast's travelling head lad Des Cummins said "Choose Me had a good run when fourth in the Cambridgeshire at the Curragh and today's race was run to suit her as they went very quick early on."

Cummins had earlier proved an unlikely saviour for the Harry Rogers-trained Irish Reel (12-1), who was lucky to make it to the track to claim a comfortable victory in the opening 'Buy A Racing Post Yearling Bonus Candidate' Nursery Handicap.

Rogers explained: "Two tyres blew in my lorry on the way to the races and thankfully Des Cummins, driving Kevin Prendergast's lorry, came to our aid and picked us up.

"That was an ordinary nursery, but a winner is a winner and she will run again at the Curragh on Sunday."< Icon Dream (8-1) made a pleasing racecourse bow as he landed the Tipperary Town Businesses & Community Raceday EBF Maiden for trainer David Wachman and jockey Wayne Lordan.

Wachman said: "I like Icon Dream a lot and his last bits of work had been very good. Hopefully now he won't know when to stop improving!"

Billy Lee and Charlie Swan teamed up with 11-4 chance Flameoftheforest to deny favourite White Front in the Glenvale Stud Auction Maiden.
