Tricky colt Full Volume (3/1f) was more toned down for his second career start today, when landing Bellewstown’s Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden for trainer Jessica Harrington, owners Ace Stud and their retained rider Shane Foley.

The homebred son of Lucky Vega had become upset in the stalls before eventually finishing sixth on his Down Royal debut run last month and today, while pushed along with three furlongs to race, scored pulling-up by 5.5 lengths from High Morals .

Harrington revealed "Full Volume is a little bit of a brat, he's a bit hot and got very upset in the stalls in Down Royal. Had to be removed so he had run his race before he ever got there, but today he was very good. In the parade ring he was really good and didn't sweat up at all, but as soon as he (Foley) got on him, he started sweating and got a bit upset.

“He's a proper miler and will probably go further. He is a nice horse and got a lovely tow into the race so everything went right. He quickened up well and eased down. I hope he has a future as we thought he was a nice horse prior to Down Royal. We will go baby steps with him.

"I love Bellewstown, it is a great track. What they have done here in the last few years is amazing."
