Trainer John Ryan was delighted to see stable-star Foildubh bounce back to form in the At The Races Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse last Saturday.

The veteran put a couple of poor runs behind him when just losing out in a terrific tussle to Roi Du Mee in the Grade Two contest.

The Templemore handler felt a better jump at the last may even have swung the decision their way and now has his sights set on Aintree with the 11-year-old.

"He's 100 per cent. He's absolutely flying again. He wasn't right all year but is perfect again," said Ryan.

"He had a magnesium deficiency but we've got it right.

"I was a little disappointed at Fairyhouse as he just landed a bit steep at the last and it may have cost him the race.

"The other lad stayed on well though and they pulled nicely clear of a decent handicapper.

"Thurles on Thursday will come too soon for him and his target is the Topham Chase at Aintree.

"I was thinking of the National but didn't enter him as he wasn't right at the time.

"He wants way better ground than he had at Fairyhouse the other day."
