Tote Test of Strength Raises Money for Jockeys Emergency Fund

Tote Ireland are set to pit jump jockeys against flat jockeys in a Test of Strength Challenge at the Galway Festival.

The event takes place on thetote.com Galway Plate Day on Wednesday 31st July at 1.45pm in the parade ring. The flat jockeys are represented by Joseph O'Brien, Shane Foley and Gary Carroll whilst the jump jockeys team is made up of Davy Russell, AP McCoy and Mark Walsh.

Matt Chapman and Ken Whelan will MC for the Tote Test of Strength which will raise a minimum of €1,000 for the Jockeys Emergency Fund.

Noel Hayes, Tote Ireland Commercial Director, said: "We're delighted to support the Jockeys Emergency Fund with this novel, fun event that raises money for a really great cause."

Tote will also have daily celebrity tipsters at their Tote Marquee who will select horses for charity bets in aid of the Jockeys Emergency Fund. Kevin O'Ryan, Denis Kirwan and Dave Keena will talk to the daily tipsters including Noel Meade, Andrew McNamara, Barry Geraghty, Robbie McNamara and Mick Winters. The charity bet tipsters will be at the Tote Marquee behind the Millenium Stand every day, twenty minutes before the first race.

Tote guarantees are in excess of €1 million at Galway and everyone who plays the Tote Pick 6, Placepot or Jackpot has a chance to win a €2,000 holiday voucher. Those who bet online, on mobile or through the Tote call centre will be automatically entered into the draw. Tote customers on track are asked to drop their Tote betting slips into the draw drum at the Tote Marquee.
