Trainer reactions to Grand National weights Following the unveiling of the weights for the Crabbie's Grand National, here is the reaction from connections of some of the leading contenders. Trainer Mouse Morris - First Lieutenant (11st 4lb), Rule The World (10st 7lb), Rogue Angel (9st 12lb) and Dromnea (9st 7lb) "I'll have to report back to the boys (Gigginstown House Stud) and see what they think about First Lieutenant. "It (Aintree) would be in the pot, but I wouldn't be jumping up and down about it (allotted weight), put it that way. There's also the Irish Grand National, so we'll see how he gets treated in that. "Rule The World could go - I wouldn't say no, anyway. He could be a great ride round there. There's also the Irish National for him, so I'll discuss it with the owners. "I'd love to run Rogue Angel if he got in - I'd nearly ride him myself! "I think we're going to come back in trip with Dromnea to two and a half miles." Owner Barry Connell - Foxrock (11st 3lb) "He's fine, I don't know what the plan is yet, but I don't think Aintree is on the agenda. "We'll wait and see, but I don't think the Grand National will be part of the plan." Trainer Enda Bolger - Gilgamboa (11st 1lb) "He's obviously well up there in the weights. "I'm not sure what the plan is for the spring. He's just on a little break at the moment and it's still early days. We'll definitely give the National serious consideration. "I'd say Cheltenham would be looking doubtful at this stage." Trainer Noel Meade - Wounded Warrior (11st) "It's highly unlikely he's going to run. He came back lame from Leopardstown and we're waiting for the vet to assess him, so we'll see." Trainer Pat Fahy - Morning Assembly (10st 9lb) "That's a lovely weight. I'm not sure he's ever carried a weight that low since he's been racing. "He just struggled in the ground in Gowran over the weekend. He was finding it hard to jump out of it, so he ran a very good race in the circumstances. "He's come out of it well. We've had him checked over and he's totally sound and everything is fine. "The Grand National is the main aim with him and everything is just slotting into place. "All being well we'll go for the three-mile-one-furlong handicap chase on the first day of Cheltenham and then on to Aintree. "We have the measure of him, we know how to have him sweet and fresh and hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here." Trainer Jim Dreaper - Goonyella (10st 8lb) "He has what weight he has and that's that. The handicapper has probably given him a few extra pounds for his form over four miles, but you expect that. "We're just hoping to get him there fit and well on the day and if you could arrange a wet week beforehand it would be very much appreciated!" Trainer Dermot McLoughlin - Vics Canvas (10st 6lb) "You'd have to be happy with that weight and he only needs 10 horses above him to come out, so you'd be hopeful he'll get in. He's in good form and might run at Fairyhouse this weekend if the ground isn't too bad. The ground in Ireland is like superglue at the moment, so we'll see. "I'd say he'll just have one run and then go to Aintree. He's very straightforward and we can get him there nice and fresh." Trainer Sandra Hughes - Thunder And Roses (10st 6lb), Golden Wonder (9st 7lb) "I'm happy with the weight for Thunder And Roses - it's the same weight off which he won the Irish Grand National last year. Golden Wonder has been dropped, which is a shame, as he might not get into it now."
