Treble for Geraghty

Barry Geraghty was in great form at Ascot today when winning the first three races for Nicky Henderson. The trainer had five wins on the day.

All three of Geraghty’s mounts were sent off favourite. The treble was initiated by Simonsig in the opening novices’ hurdle. The five-year-old gelding cantered to an 11-length success over his eight rivals at odds of 1/5.

French-bred Solix brought Geraghty’s double up in the next when beating Duke Of Lucca by 12 lengths in the beginners’ chase to land odds of 4/5.

Broadbackbob was driven out from the last in the introductory hurdle to win by a length and justify 7/4 favouritism.

The treble paid just under 5/1.
