Treble for King as Drum strikes It was a memorable night for Dan King at Limerick tonight as he secured a treble aboard Drumgill in the feature event. The John Ryan-trained gelding came off a hot pace to challenge going to the second last in the two-mile-one handicap chase. Having gained a narrow advantage over the penultimate fence the top-weight was quick and low at the last to settle matters and stayed on strongly to post a five-length win over General Clermont. It was a fourth career win for the Elusive Pimpernel gelding, who had finished third in Grade 3 company at Thurles on his last outing. "Drumgill is a fair horse, is from the family of Constitution Hill and is a proper one,” said Ryabn. “Daniel is some man, comes in a few afternoons every week and, going forward he'll ride a lot of my horses." He added:- "Mount Frisco (finished sixth) had an injury and isn't ready yet but it is nice to see him complete a race, and it will bring him on a tonne." (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
