Trek Home Makes All for Casey The Danny Murphy-trained Trek Home (11/4) was a deserved winner of the Bar One Betting First For Football Apprentice Maiden for jockey Terry Casey. As seen with other races in Dundalk today, it paid dividends to be prominent, and with a tricky position in stall 16, Terry Casey got his mount to the front and managed to settle him through the race. When the challenge from leading apprentice Paddy Harnett and Emiza came, it was Trek Home who responded well under pressure to gain a deserved success by a length. Speaking after the race, rider Terry Casey said: "We had a wide draw, so we said we would jump to go forward. If he lands out in front, try and slow it down and go on again. "He has been running over five and six (furlongs), and probably always wanted the seven, but you could nearly drop him down in trip again. "He's only after being gelded too, so it was a big help to him. "He did (find plenty), he still had plenty left in fairness to him. He grinded away in the last furlong. When I saw Paddy (Harnett, Emiza) come up beside me there, he went on again. "That's my seventh winner. I only had three winners last season, and I have four winners so far this season."
