Trix set for Lexus

Nicky Richards has confirmed Money Trix as an intended runner in the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown on December 28.

The strapping nine-year-old has won seven of his 11 starts but was made to pull out all the stops in his last race at Kelso by Belon Gale.

"Money Trix is going over to Ireland, all being well," said Richards.

"He seems to have come out of his last race well. He had quite a hard race at Kelso, and gave the middle fence down the back a right old whack."

"It was a funny race as they let that young lad (Ryan Mania) get away out front but he slowed it down and when Brian (Harding) was about to close up he got us racing earlier than we wanted. He gave it a good ride the lad."

"The Irish races look a bit more open than in the past without the old stars like Beef Or Salmon. There's a bit of a question mark against Notre Pere, I wouldn't know about Aran Concerto but Joncol will be a bit of a danger. They'll all be dangers but I've got to pitch my lad in there sometime."

"He'll not get the ground he wants here so we'll see where we stand. If we've got to drop back into handicaps so be it. That is what we are in it for, to see how high we can get these horses."
