Trix to return for Hennessy

A return trip to Ireland is on the cards for Money Trix after his fine effort in defeat in the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown on Tuesday.

Nicky Richards' nine-year-old produced a career-best performance behind What A Friend in the feature race of the four-day festival that had to be delayed 24 hours due to fog.

The grey stayed on relentlessly in the straight for Davy Russell but was half a length down at the line.

"He's not back in the yard as yet, he's still on his way. He ran a good race and I was very pleased with him," said Richards.

"We maybe could have done with the race being put back another day so it was even softer but you can't have it all ways can you!

"We've always thought he was a very good horse and hopefully he might land one one day and he'll go back there for the Hennessy now (February 7th).

"He's not got many miles on the clock so hopefully we can have a good few cracks at these Irish races.

"After that it will all be ground dependent, he won't go anywhere unless the ground is correct.

"He finished second to Black Jack Ketchum in a Grade One over hurdles at Aintree on good ground but that was a mistake on my part.

"It's probably a bit sharp for him there anyway. He wants a big galloping track and real soft ground.

"He'll be running for good money now and that is what we all work for, to get them up to that level."
