Tudor set for spring return Galway Hurdle winner Tudor City looks set for a spring campaign after enjoying a two month break. The Yeats gelding gave trainer Tony Martin a third success in Europes's richest handicap hurdle when pouncing late at Ballybrit in early August. He had three runs on the Flat after his famous win and Martin said that he could stick to the level on his return to action next year. “We gave Tudor City an eight-week break. He’s only back in and just started riding out last week but he looks well. “He was on the go all year. He goes on summer ground so you can’t really give him a break in May. “I wouldn’t say he will be out this side of March. “He can run in plenty of Flat handicaps but it’s going to be hard to pick races for him over hurdles because he’s always going to be near top-weight in handicaps (currently rated 147)."
