Turf Club to review starts from stalls The Stewards interviewed Mr Joe Banahan, Turf Club Senior Starter, concerning the loading procedures in todays first race to try to ascertain the reasons as to why it took so long to load the horses, resulting in the first race starting 9 minutes late. Evidence was heard from Mr Joe Banahan. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards, felt that a review of all the procedures for races starting from stalls is necessary, coupled with review of the issuing of stall certificates to horse prior to them running. They were also of the opinion that the number of stall handlers present should be adequate to deal with numbers of runners declared so that races can be started on time.
