Champion jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle today registered a first success since landing November’s Breeders Cup Turf, steering promising newcomer Greek Mythology (100/30) to win Dundalk’s Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Race.

Browne McMonagle, who partnered Ethical Diamond to score at Del Mar on November 1 on the same weekend he became champion jockey, today made all the running on Greek Melody who readily defeated previous maiden winners All The Girls and Alissam .

Winning trainer Joseph O’Brien was represented by Michael Halford who said "He showed a great attitude making all. Dylan said he was a bit green early on, but that once he set him about his job, he lengthened away well and went out through the line very strong.

"Time will tell how strong a race it was, but there was two winners in behind him. He's got a great mind and looks like a horse that will improve. He has plenty of size and scope to go on next year.

"He's a horse with a good pedigree and he had been working well."

Browne McMonagle’s next international adventure is at the Hong Kong International meeting on December 14, leaving Ireland on Tuesday before taking the rides on O’Brien’s Galen and Al Riffa in Group 1 contests at Sha Tin.
