Twenty-Three declared for Powers Gold Label Irish Grand National. Twenty-three horses have been declared for the 132nd running of the €170,000 Powers Gold Label Irish Grand National which takes place at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday. Davids Lad, victorious in 2001, heads the weights on 12 stone for Tony Martin, who is also represented by Ross Moff and Falcon Du Coteau while last years hero The Bunny Boiler, one of three Noel Meade runners, will shoulder 11-9 on Monday. Just six horses must race from out of the handicap proper including Wotsitooya which represents Michael O'Brien, who has the best record of any trainer with horses engaged. He won the race three times with King Spruce (1982), Vanton (1999) and Glebe Lad (1999). Arthur Moore, who rode Kings Sprite to win in 1971 and trained Feathered Leader to score in 1996, is represented by both Native Jack and Eskimo Jack while Edward O'Grady, who trained Bit Of A Skite to win the race in 1983, has Takagi among the entries. Seven-times British champion rider Tony McCoy will make the journey across the Irish Sea to team up with Winning Dream for Oliver McKiernan and the partnership are a best price 8/1 chance for the big race behind 6/1 favourite Davids Lad.
