Twinlight chases Kempton prize Twinlight seeks a fourth consecutive victory when he travels to England for the williamhill.com Chase at Kempton Park. The seven-year-old has won the Poplar Square Chase at Naas and the Hilly Way Chase at Cork so far this season, having concluded the last campaign with a Punchestown success, and Willie Mullins admits he has been surprised by his progress. The champion trainer said: "Twinlight just keeps on surprising me. Every time I think he faces a stiff task, he pulls out a bit more. He's very tough, and that is obviously a big plus for him. I hope he carries on improving, as this looks a good race." Leading jockey Richard Johnson believes this is a good opportunity for Captain Chris to secure an overdue victory. The 10-year-old has not visited the winner's enclosure since landing Ascot's Amlin 1965 Chase in November 2012, but has run some tremendous races in defeat. Philip Hobbs' charge was beaten a neck by Long Run in that year's King George VI Chase, chased home Cue Card in the Ascot Chase and finished his season with a creditable fourth in the Punchestown Gold Cup. His comeback was delayed due to a minor setback, but he ran a fine race to finish third in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon on his eventual return and although he missed another stab at the King George, he is now ready for action. Johnson said: "He likes Kempton and we know he prefers going that way round. We'd love some better ground for him, but he ran very well in the King George on this ground, so I'm sure he'll handle it all right. He ran very well in the Peterborough on his first run of the season and hopefully he goes back to Kempton with a very strong chance." Champion Court, the mount of Tony McCoy, is also among the six declared runners.
