Gary Carroll made it two on the day when partnering the Sheila Lavery-trained Leveraging to a narrow success in the eight-furlong Halloween Mid-Term Racing At Dundalk Handicap.

While he had an easy enough time of it to win the afternoon's opener, the Kildare jockey had to work far harder this time to get the Carmel Lordan-owned 5/1 chance home a head in front of the Chris Timmons-trained 25/1 shot Sheamus Seimhiu .

At odds of 11/1, Glitter And Glory was three-parts of a length away in third place for Jessica Harrington.

Sheila Lavery said, “David Marnane wanted Robbie (Colgan), but it was Robbie's call to run him over a mile and how to ride him so credit to Robbie.

“We've always thought a nice bit of that horse. He just can do a bit too much.

“Delighted with the horse and he was resolute. He wouldn't let the horse go by, so that is lovely to see. It gives you options.

“I think he will just get more confident.”
