Two Group One options for Lailani

Connections of Lailani are considering their options for the Ed Dunlop-trained filly following her victory in the Kildangan Stud Irish Oaks.

Two Group One races next month - the Vodafone Nassau Stakes at Goodwood and the Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks at York - are being mooted as possible targets although there are as yet no immediate plans for her.

Lailani stepped up from handicap company and justified being supplemented at a cost of £28,000 for the Curragh Classic when defeating her stablemate Mot Juste by a neck.

Meanwhile, the champion National Hunt team of jockey Tony McCoy and trainer Martin Pipe shared a 9 to 1 hat-trick in the first three races at Newton Abbot yesterday. Ashley Muck (4 to 6) set the ball rolling with an 18-length victory in the Canonbury Novices` Chase, Leading Optimist (4 to 11) took the Harcombe Novices` Hurdle by 3/4 of a length and Arlas (100 to 30) completed the treble with an 11-length success in the Holiday Makers Handicap Chase.

Pipe has saddled 48 winners so far this term and McCoy is on the 61-winner mark.
