Two Irish runners at Exeter this afternoon

Two Irish raiders make the journey across to Great Britain this afternoon to do battle at Exeter.

The Donedea, Co Kildare based trainer Ian Browne saddles Phlorian in the first race on the card, a selling novices hurdle.

This Falbrav gelding finished down the field on his only start at Lingfield last month, a 2m all-weather bumper, for Devon based trainer John Pavert.

However he did stay on a bit near the finish and the extra 3 furlongs here should suit and in what looks a very weak race, he maybe worth a small each-way bet.

Paul Gilligan sends his Lady Hillingdon over to the Devon track to contest the fourth race on the card the Elite Racing Club Novices’ Chase.

This consistent Overbury mare put in some good efforts last year, including finishing sixth in the Scottish Champion Hurdle behind Overturn and winning her novice chase at Killarney.

She faces just three rivals in today’s contest, but the Paul Nicholls trained Rebel Du Marquis will prove stiff opposition with some solid form to his name.
