Twomey adopting patient approach with La Isla Mujeres Having opted to miss Thursdays Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown, trainer Paddy Twomey is adopting a patient approach with smart mare La Isla Mujeres. Twice a winner for previous connections, the five-year-old registered a first Irish success when landing a Listed race at Roscommon last July. Lightly raced in the interim, the Moyglare Stud Farm owned mare made a pleasing reappearance when runner-up at Down Royal recently. Twomey reported: “She wants a bit of ease in the ground. I don’t think she will run on Thursday and she’s in the Give Thanks the following week. “If the ground was any way easier in York I wouldn’t rule out her running in the Ebor. “We’ve been very patient with her. I ran her in the Give Thanks last year on quick ground and didn’t run her again (last season). “She ran really well on her first run of the year in His Majesty’s Plate up the north where you could print the ground with your shoe. “I’d like to have run her a lot of days but I’m just waiting for easier ground.
