UK racecourse attendances at 50 year high. Figures published yesterday from the BHB reveal that attendances, in 2003, at British racecourses topped six million for the first time in over fifty years.The average daily crowd at a British racemeeting is now 4,900, a figure which has not been bettered since the 1970s.The success of the major festivals (Aintree, Cheltenham and Royal Ascot) has helped increase attendances by eight percent - from 5.56 million to the present figure of 6.02 million.
