Unique Journey relishing soft ground in Curragh Unique Journey landed the DNG Nationwide Handicap at the Curragh last year and repeated the feat with an even more emphatic success. The 15/2 chance was soon in touch as he raced alone on the far side in this sprint. He joined up with the field before halfway and was ridden into contention by Terry Casey a furlong and a half down. He went on over a furlong out and moved clear in the final 100 yards. He hit the line four lengths to the good over Smoke Them Out (16/1) who got up by a neck for second from 9/2 joint favourite Moltophino. Danny Murphy said: "We were just waiting for the ground, he just grows a leg on it. He won it last year for us. "When he had the ten stone, I said I'd put Terry Casey on. He's my apprentice now this year. He's coming to hand and he's starting to listen. It just takes time, you have to educate these lads. I'll make a jockey out of that fella. "There's one race left there over seven furlongs on 1st November and looking at him there, I'd say he'd get it." Additional reporting by John O'Riordan
