Former Paul Cashman 'pointer' Present View is set to revert to hurdling at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Jamie Snowden's seven-year-old has been entered in the Skybet Chase at Doncaster on the same day, but connections are keen to protect his handicap mark ahead of the BetBright Chase at Kempton on February 21.

Present View has two potential Grade Two engagements at Cheltenham - the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle and the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle - but Snowden wants to run him in the latter over an extended two and a half miles.

Owned by Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick, he has not been sighted since finishing an honourable third in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Prestbury Park in November.

"We've got all bases covered," said Lambourn-based Snowden.

"I think the original plan, and what is still the plan, was to give him a spin over hurdles before going for the BetBright Chase at Kempton on February 21.

"We have stuck him in at Doncaster, just in case, but, ideally, we want to keep his chase mark intact.

"He has the two options at Cheltenham on Saturday, but he'll be going for that race (the Neptune)."
