Minaun View gamely added to her recent Bellewstown success when landing the O’Donoghue Ring Optional Claiming Race at Killarney this evening.

Again ridden for trainer Ado McGuinness by Patrick McGettigan, the 3/1 favourite made all the running and held the sustained challenge of 10/1 chance Timandi by half a length.

The pair were two and a half lengths clear of 14/1 chance Go Out in third place.

McGuinness said: “She’s after getting her confidence back, she had a lot of placed efforts before we got her.

“She toughed it out well. They came at her down the corner, and again up the straight, and she still toughed it out. She’s genuine.

“If she gets her confidence up, we might throw her back in a handicap, if we still have her.

“She’s in at a claimable price so someone might go and snatch her.

“She has a great attitude and Patch was very good on her as we were drawn wide. He got her out, kicked on in front and dictated the whole way. They went good and quick and stayed at it.”

After the race, the fifth-placed Cosmic Funk (€10,000) was claimed by Pat Murphy.
