The progeny of Walk In The Park, sire of crack chasers Douvan and Min, were much sought after on day two of the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale at Fairyhouse.

National Hunt foals were on offer yesterday and a Walk In The Park colt out of Quiritis, consigned by Yellowford Farm, sold for 100,000 Euros to Ciaran Conroy’s Glenvale Stud which was the second highest price for a National Hunt foal since 2015. The dam of this April-born youngster is a full-sister to Mahler and has already produced the talented, but ill-fated, hurdler Sir Erec.

That price of 100,000 Euros was matched when another Walk In The Park colt from Yellowford Farm was sold to Mags O’Toole and Aiden Murphy. This one’s dam, The Crown Jewel, is a half-sister to smart chaser Empire Of Dirt.

Yet another son of Walk In The Park, out of four-time winner Mardale from the family of Pat Hughes’ Galway Hurdle winner Farmer Brown, was also sold by Yellowford Farm to Mags O’Toole and Aiden Murphy for 95,000 Euros.

A half-brother to Cheltenham bumper winner Fayonagh, out of Solerina’s half-sister Fair Ina, was another Walk In The Park in demand, as this Galbertstown Stud offering was sold to Brendan Bashford for 80,000 Euros.

Mags O’Toole and Aiden Murphy went to 90,000 Euros for an Order Of St George colt foal which was sold by Ballyreddin Stud. This one, out of Tetou, is a half-brother to Nicky Henderson’s Listed bumper winner and useful jumper Tetlami.

Norman and Janet Williamson, under the banner of Oak Tree Farm, went to 90,000 Euros as well for a colt foal by Kapgarde (sire of the likes of Clan Des Obeaux, A Plus Tard and Fakir D‘oudairies). Out of a half-sister to Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle runner-up Mossley and from the family of Commanche Court, he was sold by Ballincurrig House Stud on behalf of Quill Farm.

Jane Mangan was the purchaser, at 80,000 Euros, of the highest-priced filly sold thus far at this sale when signing for a daughter of Flemensfirth. Consigned by Hillview Stud, this one is out of six-time, and dual Grade 3, winner Morning Run from the family of Morning Supreme.

The three day sale concludes today with more foals on offer along with mares and broodmares.
