War Decree among Vintage Stakes 10 Aidan O'Brien will be hoping for a different result when War Decree takes on Boynton in Tuesday's Qatar Vintage Stakes at Goodwood. The Leopardstown maiden winner was beaten just three-quarters of a length into second in the Superlative Stakes and gets weight from Boynton this time. They feature among a field of 10 for the Group Two contest. Godolphin's chief executive and racing manager John Ferguson believes Boynton can build on that effort, despite having to give weight all round. "Charlie said that Boynton has come out of his Newmarket race very well, and that he is now ready to take the next step forward. The Vintage is the ideal race for him," he told www.godolphin.com. Godolphin also run the Saeed bin Suroor-trained Thunder Snow, who was sixth in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. Andrew Balding's Chesham runner-up Isomer, Paul Cole's Medieval and the Richard Hannon-trained trio of Repton, Hakeem and Larchmont Lad are other previous winners taking in the race.
