Weld pondering Leopardstown Trial

Connections of Brushed Aside will weigh up the likely opposition before deciding whether to run the Dermot Weld-trained filly in the Leopardstown 1000 Guineas Trial Stakes on Sunday.

The daughter of Oasis Dream would be stepping up in class after losing her maiden tag on her seasonal reappearance at Dundalk two weeks ago.

"I talked to Dermot about it the other day. He's going to have a look at the field and see what it looks like," Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, told At The Races.

"The race would have to be on the weaker side for him to consider it."

Grimthorpe reported no decision has yet been made as to whether multiple Group 3 winner Famous Name starts his 2010 campaign in the Gladness Stakes at the Curragh on April 11.

"We're undecided about him yet, but he's going nicely and has wintered well. We are looking at various things for him," he added.
