Welsh National on cards for Hughes duo Dessie Hughes is considering the Coral Welsh National at Chepstow on December 27th as an option for Western Charmer and Vic Venturi. The Curragh trainer has given the two stayers an entry in the marathon handicap chase, although he will also look at other opportunities nearer home at around the same time. Both horses are getting close to returning to action for the first time since the Punchestown Festival in early May. "We'll leave it open. They are good stayers both of them so we've put them in there," said Hughes. "They may go somewhere else over Christmas, if not they could go there (Chepstow). "Both are in good form and getting ready to run."
