West Away continues O'Brien's good form The Pat Collins-trained West Away (10/1) was the winner of the Wexford Racecourse Park Run Beginners Chase for jockey Patrick O’Brien, who has enjoyed a good recent few days in the saddle. The Willie Mullins-trained Nadias Boy (4/11) was sent off at short odds but bombed out in a contest that changed complexion plenty of times. It looked to be between Scalpnagoon and Jackson Lamb before West Away moved into contention, but a last-fence mistake from the Elliott-trained Scalpnagoon ended his chance and West Away went on to win by four and a half lengths from Jackson Lamb. Speaking after the race, trainer Pat Collins said: "That was his second run for us. He was off the track there for a long time. He got a run back, he just blew up the last day. "Hopefully he'll improve again another bit. He's coming back from a long lay-off. It was a nice run. It took him a while to warm up into that race, but he was strong at the finish.
