Whatcouldhavebeen makes the breakthrough Jarlath Fahey's Whatcouldhavebeen took home his first victory in the second division of the extended mile and a half handicap in Tipperary. He was ridden by Leigh Roche to go after long-time leader Nusra in the final furlong and he picked up well to hit the the front in the closing stages. He was driven out to win going away by a length and three quarters at 6/1 Litteratus held every chance entering the final furlong but had to settle for second at 10/1. French Company finished third at 13/2 as Nusra weakened. "it is great to get that win. She had been knocking on the door and had been a bit unlucky but that is mostly due to her own fault as she doesn't travel great early in her races and finishes off strong," Fahey said. "The softer ground was a big help today as she travelled better, got a better position and finished off well enough. She is more a National Hunt mare than Flat mare and anything we get off her during the summer is a bonus as she'll be a nice one for hurdles during the winter. "Battle Of Marengos stay all day and that's all she does, stay all day." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
