Windsor off due to waterlogging This evening's meeting at Windsor has become the latest victim of the recent wet spell in England and was found to be waterlogged following an 8am inspection. Clerk of the course Sophie Candy reports over 60 millimetres of rain to have fallen at the track in recent days and with further rain forecast, the track is not fit for action. She said: “I’ve had 63mm of rain since Wednesday, with 54.5mm of that coming in one hit on Friday. “The track managed to stay raceable over the weekend, but it’s raining this morning and is due to continue over the rest of the day and the track simply cannot take it. “We’ve got three days of racing over the weekend, so hopefully we will be ready for that.” There are three afternoon meetings today in the UK with jumps action at Newton Abbot and Southwell, while Chepstow hosts a Flat fixture. The focus moves to the all-weather this evening at Wolverhampton. Meanwhile, there are no such concerns on the domestic front with the Curragh continuing a programme of watering ahead of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby this Saturday. The going at the Curragh, which hosts a three-day Derby Festival from Friday through to Sunday, is currently described as good to firm (firm in places). Some rain is expected on Wednesday, perhaps 5 to 8mm, but otherwise the week is expected to be generally dry.
