Wolf Waits For Haydock Amadeus Wolf will miss the VC Bet Nunthorpe Stakes and wait instead for the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock Park nine days later.Kevin Ryan's speedy colt finished a highly-creditable two-and-a-half-length third in the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville on Sunday. The French Group One contest was over six and a half furlongs and the Hambleton trainer believes his runner 'didn't quite get home'.Immediately after the race the sponsors trimmed Amadeus Wolf's odds to 12-1 for the York race, which is over five furlongs compared with six at Haydock. But Ryan said: 'He'll not go for the Nunthorpe.'He's great this morning, in good order. He's going to have a little break now for a fortnight and then we'll prepare him for Haydock.'He ran a storming race in France and I couldn't be happier with him but he just didn't quite get home over six and a half.'After the Haydock race (on September 2) the plan is to go to Hong Kong with him for the sprint at the end of the year, it's six furlongs this time.'(C) PA Sport
