York and Tralee set to race despite heavy ground York and Tralee play host to Festivals on either side of the Irish Sea this week, and the gates at both venues are set to open tomorrow. The ground at Tralee is soft to heavy, heavy in places, ahead of their five day Festival which marks the final ever meeting at the Co. Kerry track. The first of seven races tomorrow gets underway at 2.55pm. York's clerk of the course William Derby reports the four-day Ebor meeting is not in any doubt. Heavy rainfall in North Yorkshire has hit the Knavesmire hard, but the course is ready to open its doors to thousands of racegoers from tomorrow. The heavy going could possibly scupper the eagerly awaited clash between Duke Of Marmalade and New Approach in the Juddmonte International, but Derby has assured the public the meeting will go ahead. He told attheraces, 'The course looks in good nick despite the rain. It is heavy ground but the meeting is not in any doubt at the moment.'
