York on Dariyan's agenda Dariyan found his way though the pack to gain Group One honours in the Prix Ganay at Saint-Cloud. Christophe Soumillon had to sit and suffer until a gap appeared and when it did he had a willing partner in the four-year-old, trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre. Dariyan squeezed his way through and then kept Silverwave at bay to prevail by a length and a quarter. Garlingair was third while the two British raiders, Air Pilot and The Corsican, failed to figure in the finish. Royer-Dupre indicated afterwards that the Juddmonte International at York could be a long-term target for Dariyan. Ervedya was sent off the 8-11 favourite to give owner the Aga Khan a big-race double in the Prix du Muguet later on the card, but Jean-Claude Rouget's Royal Ascot winner had to settle for second place. The Group Two contest went to Vadamos, who ran out a convincing winner for trainer Andre Fabre by three and a half lengths in the hands of Pierre-Charles Boudot. Mr Owen was a length and a quarter back in third. Dandy Nicholls' Sovereign Debt had every chance but was pushed back into fifth place close home.
