Steel Cap came from last to first under jockey Jamie Codd when book-ending a double for trainer Gordon Elliott in the concluding September Meeting (Pro-Am) INH Bumper at Kilbeggan today.

The son of Craigsteel was today making his career debut and showed a useful turn of foot to sweep past his rivals in the final half-mile and record a two and three parts of a length win over Russian Soldier

Elliott, who won the opener with Silver Star wasn't present but Codd later said “he’s a little bit green but he has a good pedigree and is a half-brother to Graineyhill.

“Gordon just said to mind him today and have him coming home well. He’s done it very nice in the end, and the boys are going to have plenty of fun with him. I can see him progressing over jumps.”
