The Gordon Elliott trained Miro gained a maiden career win at Downpatrick today, landing the opening Keeping It Country Maiden Hurdle, under Jack Kennedy.

Previously trained in England by James Fanshawe, the winning son of Rock Of Gibraltar was produced with a well timed challenge by Kennedy and in the end stayed on well for a two lengths win over Mr Antolini

Elliott later said “Jack gave him a lovely ride and he's improving the whole time and it worked out grand. He'll win again, the horse, and he’s a grand type. He loved the ground and that ground is lovely.
