Having earlier landed a double at Tipperary’s National Hunt card, Jessica Harrington was on hand at Leopardstown to witness 15/8 favourite Cadillac rsquo;s impressive debut in the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Maiden.

Once Shane Foley switched out for racing room coming to the furlong marker, the son of Lope De Vega fairly left his rivals for dead as he sprinted away to beat Ebeko by nine lengths.

The ground had eased a bit before racing to good, good to yielding in places after a few showers and the winner, a 40,000 Euro purchase at the Goffs Orby Sale, certainly enjoyed conditions.

It was a return to the racecourse for the trainer after the easing of restrictions regarding people over 70 being allowed to go racing.

Winning trainer Jessica Harrington remarked: “It’s great to be back and to come back with a winner is even better.

“He’s a nice horse and we were hoping to get that bit of rain. If it was firm we probably wouldn’t have run him.

“We’ll take it step by step from here and it’s great for the syndicate (Alpha Racing 2020).

“At home he just goes through the motions. He does things easily and that was the first time any button was pressed.”
