FormscanBy Donal Murphy - Just the eight runners but still a difficult contest to assess. Siberian Prince has the strongest form but looks a bit vulnerable carrying top-weight on what will be his handicap debut. Brave Way is another having her first start in handicap company. She was disappointingly beaten on her last visit to Kilbeggan but was successful in a weak contest on her most recent start at Limerick. She could step forward again here and is sure to have plenty of supporters. Dual course winner Jack Hackett has been a model of consistency this summer and it'll be interesting to see how he fares in first time cheekpieces. For a selection, ARTHUR'S BABY gets the nod. Without a win since September of 2020, the Mark McNiff trained eight-year-old has been knocking on the door of late and should go close here with Gavin Brouder taking 5lb off. Old Town Garde is another that warrants respect, but in truth, none of the eight can be safely ruled out.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards (130 = 11st 12lbs)Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
