The Smooth Daddy gelding has been placed twice during the ‘winter’ campaign here and ran well when runner-up over course and distance in late November. He remains on the same mark. Hale Bopp was narrowly denied off this mark here in late November and ran a solid race when fourth off a couple of pounds higher last time. He looks like another obvious contender. Three-time course and distance winner Rock Etoile has eased a few pounds recently and is another to consider.
