FormscanBy John O'Riordan - INDIAN RIVER showed enough on his racecourse debut at the Galway festival to suggest he can his maiden. Making late headway from over two-furlongs out, the John Joseph Murphy trained gelding finished a-length-and-a-half behind a subsequent winner with an official rating of 95. Granted normal improvement from that initial outing, the son of Nathaniel should be hard to beat under Dylan Browne McMonagle. Juniper Sling would have strong claims if able to replicate her Naas third from earlier in the season. Although only fifth at Bellewstown after, the Ger Lyons-trained filly is worth another chance. Simurgh hasn't been seen since last October but would have every chance if fit on his first start of the season.
