Formscan - Myretown and Resplendent Grey were both well fancied for the Coral Gold Cup. Not for the first time, the former took a crashing fall when leading but he remains with significant potential judged on his Ultima success at Cheltenham and a clear round would see him bang in contention. Resplendent Grey's Newbury effort is worth forgiving as the standing start cost him and the step back up in trip will certainly suit. That said, it wouldn't be at all surprising to see the classy L'HOMME PRESSE back to winning ways after the 11-year-old made a pleasing return in a Cheltenham handicap, staying on well in the closing stages after losing his position. Becher runner-up Mr Vango and the third Val Dancer are also respected.
