FormscanBy Mark Nunan - MIDNIGHT MAESTRO jumped regulation fences well when winning a couple of handicap chases last season and will no doubt have been extensively schooled in preparation for his first try over the banks course. Mark Walsh’s mount was a good fourth to Foxy Jacks when last seen in action here in April. He gets the vote to see off stablemate Shady Operator who is rated the same and has been kept on the go over the summer. The latter beat Blast Of Koeman on his cross-country debut in February and that experience is obviously a big plus. Robin Des Foret is another interesting recruit to this discipline and has the rating to be very competitive if taking to the obstacles. Last year’s winner Neverushacon has had a spin on the Flat to warm up and is another to consider along with Call It Magic and the veteran Ballyboker Bridge who were first and second over course and distance at the festival in May.
