The Great Pretender mare would have a good chance here on her early starts, but her latest performance will have to be forgiven, and she may not have been right that day as she hasn’t been seen on the track in 135 days. The Monkey Pole ran incredibly well on her rules debut when a staying on second at 50-1 and can improve again from that showing to challenge for the places once more under Ella Herbison. Courtbrack Boy wears the hood for the first time and if he settles better, Terence O’Brien’s gelding can be seen to better effect.
