The Westerner gelding was a useful sort over hurdles winning twice and filling the runner-up spot in the ‘Martin Pipe’ at the Cheltenham Festival. He made an encouraging start over fences when beating all bar Ile Atlantique at Navan and has been absent since weakening in the straight in a Grade 1 at Limerick last Christmas. Solsbury Hill won easily at Roscommon and looks like he’ll be better over fences than hurdles, while Hashtag Pretender also put in a solid effort on his chasing debut last time.
