FormscanBy Tom Weekes - FAKIR D'ALENE won in taking style over Christmas and is helped by his experienced rider's valuable 7lb claim. A point-to-point for today's jockey, he made much of the running to win in first-time blinkers at Down Royal and while that ground was soft, he has winning form on a sound surface and chasing looks his game. The Chapel Field's previous win was in November 2020 but he ran well here in December and has claims in first-time blinkers with his rider able to claim 5lb today, against 2lb in the December race. Sean Says was well beaten in heavy ground at Limerick over Christmas but had previously won here in mid-December. Donkey Years' best form is on soft ground but has dropped down the ratings a little while similarly owned Goodnightngodbless hasn't won in 16 chase outings and might ideally prefer further. That's Lifebuoy's has been running well enough and has place claims from a light weight.
