Formscan - King's Scholar won on his second start over hurdles when staying on strongly at Southwell and is an obvious contender, but he is only rated 7lb superior to ARBITRATION on the Flat and has to give that rival 13lb. Second on his hurdling bow at Newton Abbot, Joe Tizzard's four-year-old pulled too hard but could be a different proposition now. So Proud won a bumper at Haydock on debut and looks the sort to do better as he gains experience over hurdles.
