FormscanBy Michael Graham - OPPOSITES ATTRACT can make the breakthrough over fences. The step up to an extended three miles one furlong shouldn't trouble him as he was a close third to Monkfish no less in his sole point-to-point. His third behind Latest Exhibition on steeplechasing debut at Punchestown in October certainly catches the eye. He has since finished a decent second at Fairyhouse in a race that is working out well. He was no match for a clear winner when last seen in Navan, however, the horse behind him in third won a beginners' chase at Leopardstown on Monday by 10 lengths. The Big Dog was gambled on at Punchestown but paid the price for a bad mistake at the eighth fence when in the front rank. He can get involved with a clear round. Longhouse Poet was Grade One placed over hurdles and holds a mark of 139 over fences. His second to Janidil in Naas was a fair effort. He wasn't at his best when beaten 40 lengths into third on his next start at Naas, though, so needs to bounce back.
