FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - J P McManus has DARASSO and Any Second Now in here and the former could be the pick for Joseph O’Brien and J J Slevin. McManus isn’t the only one with dual representation as Willie Mullins sends Bachasson and Scarpeta into battle. Stable jockey Paul Townend is on Bachasson but his 148 rating leaves him four pounds shy of Darasso on 152. Both of them are back from campaigning over fences and as the younger horse it could be that Darasso has most scope for progression. Bachasson, Darasso and Scarpeta actually filled the first, second and third spots in this contest two years ago. We haven’t seen City Island since he was pulled up in the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in March. A watching brief might be the best course of action with him for the moment on his second run after wind surgery.
